  • 1) In the upcoming meeting of our Interfaith Group for the Study of Important Books on January 22, 2025, we will have the privilege of meeting BAHA HILO, renowned Palestinian educator and activist who will be our Distinguished Guest Speaker (An introduction to him is attached). He will be making a presentation on “Surviving Zionist Oppression: the ethnic cleansing of Palestine and ongoing displacement.”  The presentation will be followed by Q & A first by members of our own Group, and then by some participating members from All Peoples, A Unitarian Universalist Congregation.
  • 2) The upcoming meeting of our Interfaith Group for the Study of Important Books was held on February 26, 2025 (7.00 – 8.30 p.m.). The program was as follows:
    i) The main takeaways from the previous meeting on January 22, 2025, when eminent Palestinian educator and activist Baha Hilo spoke to this Group, will be discussed.
    ii) The assigned readings for this meeting from Dr. Ilan Pappe’s book “Lobbying for Zionism on Both Sides of the Atlantic,” are Chapter 1 (The Christian Harbingers of Zionism), Chapter 2 (Lobbying for the Balfour Declaration), and Chapter 3 (The Road to the Balfour Declaration) was discussed.
  • 3) The upcoming meeting of our Interfaith Group for the Study of Important Books was held on March 26, 2025 (4. 30 – 6.00 p.m.). The time of this meeting which is being held in Ramadan has been changed this month due to Iftar timing. The assigned readings for this meeting are: Chapter 4: “Lobbying in Britain during the Mandate,” and Chapter 5: “Early Zionist Lobbying in the USA,” from Dr. Ilan Pappe’s book “Lobbying for Zionism on Both Sides of the Atlantic.”
  • 4) The upcoming meeting of our Interfaith Group for the Study of Important Books was held on June 18, 2025 (7.00 – 8. 30 p.m.) when we will have two presentations. On special request, our esteemed Member and highly distinguished scholar Professor Greg Hutcheson will talk to us about Antisemitism and Islamophobia in Europe. Following his remarks, Azam Saeed will make a presentation on Chapter 9 “Lobbying for Israel in Twenty-First Century America”.
  • 5) The upcoming meeting of our Interfaith Group for the Study of Important Books was held on July 30, 2025 (7.00 – 8. 30 p.m.) when we will have two presentations. Ron Smith will be making a presentation on Chapter 10 (“The War Against American Civil Society”) and Rev. Summer Albayati and Devin Dadah will be making a joint presentation on Chapter 11 (“Lobbying for Israel in Twenty-First Century Britain”).
